Islam and God Existence
In the Quran, the holy book of Islam, there are numerous verses that address the existence and attributes of God (Allah). While there isn’t a specific surah (chapter) titled “On God’s Existence,” several chapters delve into the concept of God’s existence, His attributes, and the signs of His creation.
One of the most notable chapters is Surah Al-Ikhlas (Chapter 112), which emphasizes the oneness and uniqueness of God:
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Say, “He is Allah, [Who is] One,
Allah, the Eternal Refuge.
He neither begets nor is born,
Nor is there to Him any equivalent.”
This surah succinctly asserts the absolute oneness of God, without any partners or equals. It rejects the concept of God having offspring or being born, emphasizing His eternal nature and incomparability.
Other chapters, such as Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2) and Surah Al-An’am (Chapter 6), also discuss the signs of God’s existence in the universe and invite reflection upon them as evidence of His existence and power.
Overall, the Quran presents numerous arguments and reflections on the existence of God, His attributes, and His role as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.
Islam and Conspiracies
Al-Ma'idah (Chapter 5), Verse 64: ˹Some among˺ the Jews said, “Allah is tight-fisted.”1 May their fists be tied and they be condemned for what they said. Rather, He is open-handed, giving freely as He pleases. That which has been revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ from your Lord will only cause many of them to increase in wickedness and disbelief. We have stirred among them hostility and hatred until the Day of Judgment. Whenever they kindle the fire of war, Allah puts it out. And they strive to spread corruption in the land. And Allah does not like corruptors.
Islam and Concept of God
Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2), Verse 255: Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge—except what He wills ˹to reveal˺. His Seat encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest.
Islam and Life Purpose
Surah Adh-Dhariyat (Chapter 51), Verse 56: I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me.
Islam and Women's Rights
Surah An-Nisa (Chapter 4), Verse 19: O believers! It is not permissible for you to inherit women against their will or mistreat them to make them return some of the dowry ˹as a ransom for divorce˺—unless they are found guilty of adultery. Treat them fairly. If you happen to dislike them, you may hate something which Allah turns into a great blessing.
Islam and Feminism
Surah Al-Ahzab (Chapter 33), Verse 35: Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allāh often and the women who do so - for them Allāh has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.
Islam and Atheist or Buddhism or Jainism
Surah At-Tur (Chapter 52), Verse 35: Or were they created by nothing, or are they ˹their own˺ creators? Surah At-Tur (Chapter 52), Verse 36: Or did they create the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no certainty.
